Power Supply

The parameters under Power supply define – you guessed it – the power supply. Battery, DC/DC converter, or AC/DC converter – all are simulated using the two parameters DC resistance and inductance. Enter resistance in milliohm and inductance in nano Henry (nH).

To determine the right values to use for resistance and inductance, consider doing a test measurement of the actual power supply circuit.

Simply sweep a load over frequency and record the impact on the voltage output. From this, you can plot the impedance versus frequency of the power supply. Make an approximate model from a series resistor and inductor that matches and use these two values in the tool.
