When using the Optimize button, a few things are worth noting.
- The optimum found may not be optimal to you… The optimizer try to fit the impedance curve under the target with as few capacitors as possible. Some capacitors may be more costly (real estate or money), but that is not considered.
- We seed the optimizer with random starting points. So you may not find the same “optimum” solution in two runs. Try a few times to find something you like.
- Lines where the NUM value is zero are not considered. So if you want to have the optimizer try to use all the capacitor types you have defined, make sure NUM is at least one for all of them.
The optimizer may run for a long time – even on a fast computer. If the optimizer stops with an “Unresponsive Script” error, just let it continue running. It will complete eventually.
